It was a big challenge for my sister and I to take our parents to visit a spa. We made it. What a joy!

I am training to run a marathon, in solidarity with Afghan women who are not allowed to go to school or do any sport, because of the Taliban. Here is one of the roads where I run.

In front of my house there is a large construction site. The noises are so loud. They remind me of the sound of bombs and gunfire. I hate it.

An empty school. It reminds me that here students decide whether or not to go to school. In Afghanistan, others decide for them.

In 2008 our history in Switzerland began here in Chiasso. Here we were stopped by border guards and sent back to Italy.


Today’s news report that the Taliban will not allow women to go to school. I am struggling to concentrate on my studies, as I read this sadness.

My sister is an architect and an interior designer. She is very good. This is me looking at her art.
